Washington 3rd graders would like to thank Mr. Depew and the West Haven Rotary for their once again generous donation of a dictionary to each 3rd grade student. They will put these to good use!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Family Math Night at the high school scheduled for Thursday, October 19th, has been canceled. The schools will reschedule the event, and look forward to hosting it another day. The new date and time will be announced once it is confirmed.

Last night, the WHHS Fill-A-Bag, Fuel-A-Mind Club hosted Trunk or Treat! The event, which was open to all West Haven families, took place at the Kelsey Avenue entrance at WHHS. Admission was a hygiene item or non-perishable food item to donate to their pantry. The Fill-A-Bag, Fuel-A-Mind Clubโs mission is to eliminate food insecurity in our schools.

The โSave A Life Tourโ is back at the high school with its Distracted Driving Program! They were here yesterday and today to teach our students about the dangers of driving while intoxicated and driving while texting. They use methods such as speaker presentations, visual presentations, and interactive demonstrations.
Forest School hosted a professional BMX show by Mannie Nogueira today, as part of its anti-bullying enrichment program! In between impressive stunts on his bike was Mannieโs anti-bullying message to โBe a buddy, not a bully!โ He also encouraged students to achieve their goals through dedication.

Washington School held its ABC Bootcamp earlier this week! For 26 days, students learned the letters of the alphabet and the sounds of those letters. Each day, they made a chart with pictures for each letter, practiced writing the letter, and made an alphabet hat for each letter!
They concluded the ABC Bootcamp with a fashion show! Check out some pictures of the creative vests the students made.
Forest School Kindergarten celebrated learning the letters of the alphabet with a parade around the school today, wearing vests that they made illustrating all the letter sounds!

Carrigan held pep rallies in the auditorium today for their 5th and 6th graders! The students had a lot of fun as they participated in games while learning about, and setting goals for, My Path and Lexia! My Path and Lexia help students learn skills they may not know and push them to challenge themselves.
Students learned that they could win prizes for completing their individual and team goals, which they set today and will end on October 20th!
