Yesterday, WHHS seniors celebrated at their Senior Picnic at Cielo! 🎓☀️ After a year of hard work, they definitely earned a day to relax, connect with friends, and celebrate all they’ve accomplished. 💙🍦🍗🎶 With a mobile ice cream parlor, Mission BBQ, and a DJ, it was an unforgettable time! We’re so proud of you, Class of 2025!

Yesterday at WHHS, we celebrated our students' academic excellence at the annual Honors Award Breakfast! 🎉🎓 Students were recognized for their hard work in Honors and AP courses over the years—earning a certificate as freshmen, a pin as sophomores, a sweatshirt as juniors, and a gold cord for graduation as seniors—all by maintaining a B or better each year. Proud of their dedication and achievement!

Congratulations to Abby Wynus on setting WHH's new Single Season Home Record with 7 home runs! The record setting home run came on a blast against Woodstock Academy this past Saturday in a 5-3 win for the Blue Devils! Congratulations Abby!

Yesterday, AP U.S. Government and Politics students heard guest speaker Michael Scanlon, a WH resident who worked his entire career as a foreign service officer for the U.S. State Department. The students really enjoyed Michael’s talk and truly appreciated his advice to find a job you love, see the world, experience different cultures, learn new languages, and READ WIDELY! Michael worked in eight different countries and had a truly remarkable career. On this Memorial Day weekend, WHHS thanks Michael for his service to his country and the world.

This week, WHHS Library Media Specialist Mrs. Jill Woychowski gave an engaging presentation to the Science and Food class on Urban Farming in West Haven. Students explored both the benefits and challenges of growing food in an urban environment.
Mrs. Woychowski also shared a practical, step-by-step guide to eating locally and reducing food waste, empowering students to make more sustainable choices in their everyday lives.

8th Grade Open House Night at West Haven High School was a great success. We had an excellent turnout from students and their families who had the chance to experience what WHHS is all about.
The evening kicked off in the auditorium with performances from our news crew, dance team, and drama club, along with virtual contributions from our band and chorus. Presentations followed, highlighting key areas like our business and athletic programs.
Staff showcased academic departments and clubs throughout the building, and our peer advocates did a great job guiding tours.

Friendly reminder that tickets must be purchased by tomorrow May 13th for the 2025 Unsung Hero Recipients Dinner!
