The WHHS Business Department took a field trip to the Bankruptcy Court in New Haven. Several area attorneys and Judge Nevins welcomed them to the 18th floor of the financial building in New Haven to show them the ropes and do a mock hearing about a gentleman who was in serious debt, including credit cards, student loans, and repossession of a car. Students learned about the various types of lawyers and talked about some famous people who have filed for bankruptcy. This all coincides with our Personal Finance Class and how to help students think before they make a purchase.

Bailey's new hybrid Team 9, comprised of awesome 7th and 8th graders, had the opportunity to team build in the most creative way! The whole team met in the cafeteria for two blocks and enjoyed 4 different challenges to stimulate their minds. By the conclusion of all activities, both students and teachers gained a new appreciation for each other.

Health students at Bailey Middle School had the opportunity to meet two emotional support dogs today, Officer Finn and Officer Sunny! These dogs have gone through two years of training to become emotional support dogs with the New Haven Police Department. Students have been learning about Social and Emotional Health in their health classes, and Officers Finn and Sunny allowed our students a glimpse into the social and emotional benefits of therapy dogs. Thank you Officer Lambe, for bringing in Officer Finn, and thank you Detective Boyle, for bringing in Officer Sunny to meet our Bailey students!
