Danielle Ricketts, a student representative for the West Haven Board of Education, has been accepted to Yale University, joining fellow student representative Nabiha Khan who was accepted in December as a QuestBridge Scholar. Danielle plans to major in History of Science, Medicine and Public Health. Along with being a student rep, she is also President of the International Club, President of Teens for Christ Club, Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, and she’s a Peer Advocate.

“Yale University is the ideal school for me in every aspect, so being chosen to be a part of the Class of 2026, especially in an extremely competitive year, feels like such an honor and privilege,” said Danielle. “I can’t wait to experience all the things I’ve heard and love about Yale for myself as an undergraduate.

“I could not have done it without the staff and programs here at WHHS. I am so thankful for all the opportunities I’ve had to be a part of and give back to this community, and I am appreciative of all the resources I have been given to excel and stand out in the application process. My guidance counselors have been alongside me every step of the way. Their support and advice means the world to me, and this is just as much their accomplishment as mine.”
