About: I have been working in the West Haven Public School system for 32 years. I started at Thompson School teaching fifth grade. I then taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. I now teach science at Seth G. Haley Elementary School.
Hobbies: In my free time, I enjoy spending my time reading, skiing, traveling, and golfing.
What Motivates You to Come to Work Each Day? I love teaching science because I can spark curiosity and inspire students to develop a love of learning. Watching my students’ excitement grow as they make discoveries is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
Allison Wendt | Washington Elementary School | Math Coach
About: I have been teaching a total of 20 years, 3 in New Haven and 17 in West Haven. I taught grades 3 and 4 at Forest and Pagels, and served as Math Coach at Savin Rock and Washington for the last 13 years.
Hobbies: I enjoy traveling to Block Island, Charleston, South Carolina, and Newport. I also like walking my dog down at the beach and spending time with friends and family.
Fun Fact: I spent a semester in Salamanca, Spain during college.

What Motivates You to Come to Work Each Day? I am fortunate to work with an incredible staff at Washington. They make my job so enjoyable. The students are also amazing, and it is rewarding to know I am making a difference each day.
What Makes Your School Special to You? My staff is really supportive and caring. They are the friends that became my family. The kids are the best part of my day. They make learning fun. I am truly lucky to be working at Washington.
