StudentsTwo outstanding students, Daniel Davis-Anagboso and Malena Noboa-Egas, seniors at West Haven High School, have earned full four-year scholarships through the 2025 QuestBridge National College Match and are preparing to take the next step in their academic journeys. According to QuestBridge, the program “connects high-achieving, low-income students with full scholarships to the nation’s most selective colleges.” This year, 2,550 seniors nationwide earned Match Scholarships, highlighting the program’s competitive nature.

Daniel Davis-Anagboso, who will attend Boston University, is excited about what lies ahead. When asked what he is most looking forward to studying or pursuing at BU, Daniel shared, “I’m going to Boston University where I’m hoping to get a degree in biomedical engineering. I hope to work on prosthetics, however I’m happy to try other things as well. I’m most excited about the environment in Boston and hope it will help keep stress levels low and help me find friends who also share my interests and might be my future coworkers.”

Looking toward the future, he added that he hopes this opportunity will shape his long-term goals by easing financial pressure and opening doors. “I hope this opportunity will help me avoid debt in the future, which I believe will help me kickstart looking for a career to hopefully make an impact on the world. With the money I saved, I think I will be able to achieve some of my goals a bit easier.”

Malena Noboa-Egas, matched with Skidmore College, is equally eager for what’s to come. Reflecting on what she is excited to explore academically or personally at Skidmore, Malena said, “At Skidmore, I am most looking forward to exploring an academic environment that values creativity, collaboration, and purpose-driven learning. I am excited to engage with the local QuestBridge chapter and take advantage of Skidmore’s research opportunities, particularly within the natural sciences as I plan to major in chemistry.”

She also looks forward to becoming involved beyond the classroom. “Beyond academics, I look forward to becoming involved in student organizations, volunteer work, and advocacy efforts that support the surrounding Skidmore community. I also hope to minor in education, as I have long been fascinated by early childhood development and the ways learning and science intersect.”

When asked where she sees herself after college and how this scholarship helps her get there, Malena explained, “After college, I see myself pursuing an MD-PhD program, where I can contribute to scientific research while learning the skills necessary to become a compassionate doctor. In particular, I am interested in research that advances our understanding of disease and leads to more effective, noninvasive treatments. Ultimately, I hope to become a pediatric oncologist, a field that combines scientific innovation with multidisciplinary work and deep empathy.”

She added, “Being awarded this scholarship would be a crucial step in achieving these goals. As a QuestBridge recipient, I am able to focus fully on my academics and research development without the financial barriers that often limit access to pre-med and research opportunities. This accolade isn’t only for me, it’s for my family, future patients, and community.”

Both students began the QuestBridge application process in the spring of their junior year and navigated a highly competitive path to earn this opportunity. QuestBridge notes that Match Scholarships provide students “with a full four-year scholarship covering tuition, housing and food, books and supplies, and travel expenses, with no expected parental contribution.” Their achievements reflect years of hard work and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.

Congrats, Daniel and Malena!
