Today at Forest Elementary School, 3rd grade teacher Stacey Giaquinto and a group of students spoke to the crowd about the dangers of single-use plastics and their harmful effects on the environment. The assembly aimed to raise awareness about how these plastics contribute to pollution and encouraged everyone to consider more sustainable choices.

The second half of the assembly featured a fun and creative fashion show, where students proudly showcased outfits they designed using single-use plastics—turning waste into wearable art to highlight the importance of recycling and reusing materials.

To wrap up the event, each student received a dozen bamboo spoons, a sustainable alternative to plastic utensils, promoting eco-friendly habits and reminding everyone that small changes can help protect our planet.
