The Attorney General of Connecticut, William Tong, visited Mrs. Alves’ fourth-grade classroom at Mackrille Elementary School on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023. AG Tong spoke to our students about his job and what it entails, as well as the dangers of social media.

He chose to visit Mackrille after receiving a letter written by fourth-grader Jessica Mebane. Jessica wrote the letter to AG Tong to thank him for all that he does in his role as Attorney General.

AG Tong is the 25th Attorney General to serve Connecticut since the office was established in 1897. He took office on January 9, 2019, as the first Asian American elected at the statewide level in Connecticut. Shortly after his visit to Mackrille, he announced a $700 million settlement with Google in their lawsuit about Google's anticompetitive conduct with the Google Play Store. He had briefly discussed this settlement with our students.
