Kai Lupa, junior goalie for the West Haven Blue Devils, is this week’s Athlete of the Week after a clutch performance in the Blue Devils’ centennial celebration win over North Haven.
Facing the 5th ranked team in the state, West Haven fell behind 2-0, but with help from the offense tying the game and taking the lead, Kai made sure it stayed that way. He stopped 34 of 37 shots in a 4-3 victory over the Nighthawks, coming up with several key saves late to secure the win.
With momentum on their side, Kai will be a key player again in tonight’s matchup vs Guilford. Congratulations, Kai!
