Savin Rock Elementary School celebrated its 4th grade promotion ceremony today! 🎉 Principal Tom Hunt praised the students for their hard work and dedication throughout the year and shared how lucky Carrigan is to be welcoming such an incredible group next year. Savin Rock Field Day 🎉
Savin Rock students enjoyed a sunny field day last week filled with sack races, chalk art, relay games, and rainbow parachute fun. They capped it off with a cool treat — a sweet reward for all their hard work!






Reminder: Monday, June 9 will be the final full day of school for the year, with Tuesday, June 10 through Thursday, June 12 as half days.

On Friday, Savin Rock Kindergarten took a special trip to the beach! 🏖️☀️ After working hard all year, these little learners deserved a fun and memorable day before heading off to 1st grade. 💙🌊 What a perfect way to celebrate their amazing year!







4th graders from all our elementary schools came together for a fun-filled Field Day at Painter Park! 🏃♂️🎉 They played games like tug-of-war, potato sack races, relays, and more. Plus, they were treated to lunch and cold drinks to stay fueled and refreshed! 💪🍔🥤☀️ Huge thanks to everyone who made it happen. 5th grade, here they come! 🎓💙







Savin Rock 4th Grade Fine Arts Show 🎨🎶— Our 4th graders at Savin Rock showcased their creativity and musical talent during this year’s Fine Arts Show, with the theme of water flowing through both the artwork and the music.
A huge thank you to Mr. Montiel for directing a wonderful concert and to Mrs. Jacobson for guiding our young artists in creating such beautiful water-themed art pieces. The entire school enjoyed the show — it was truly a celebration of the arts!




Savin Rock Elementary 2nd graders had a blast today at Woodlawn Duck Pin Bowling in West Haven! 🎳✨ Bowling under the vibrant neon lights and finishing off with a pizza party made for an unforgettable celebration. Congratulations to all the kids for their hard work this year—keep shining bright! 🍕🎉

🌟 Last night at WHHS, the 2025 Unsung Hero Recipient Dinner was held, celebrating the incredible individuals who make a difference every day in our schools.
Each school selected its very own unsung hero—from security guards and secretaries to teachers, speech pathologists, and more. No matter the position, every member of West Haven Public Schools plays a vital role in shaping the lives of our students and supporting our community.
We are proud to work alongside such dedicated professionals who care deeply about the education and well-being of our youth. Last night was a special opportunity to recognize and honor their hard work and commitment. 🙌

🎒 On Wednesday, May 7, West Haven Public Schools proudly welcomed the Class of 2038 at Kindergarten Orientation! 🌟
Held at each elementary school, incoming kindergartners and their families had the opportunity to meet the school principal, kindergarten teachers, and paraprofessionals. It was a special day of connection and excitement as both students and parents got a first look at the school experience ahead.
While students participated in a fun, interactive reading session, parents received an informative presentation covering daily schedules, transportation, safety protocols, communication options, attendance, and school policies. To wrap up the day, students rejoined their families for a guided tour of their respective schools.

🌍 Earth Day Super Hero Contest Results 🌍
Over 120 students participated in our Earth Day Super Hero Contest! Each student created a unique superhero dedicated to fighting pollution. The entries were filled with creativity and a strong message: protecting our planet is essential.
