On Friday, students had the opportunity to meet Dr. Clarissa Henry, author of 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘪 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘹𝘦𝘳. This powerful social-emotional learning book teaches children five steps to solve everyday problems with confidence. Each class received a free copy of the book, along with an Imani the Fixer problem-solving card for every student.







On Wednesday, November 13th, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM, come support Forest School by grabbing a bite at McDonald's (515 Sawmill Road, West Haven, near Walmart). A portion of all sales will be donated to our school! Enjoy a live DJ, raffle prizes, and fun for the whole family! Drive-thru, dine-in, or take-out options available.


Reminder: There will be NO SCHOOL for students tomorrow, November 5th, for Election Day. Teachers and staff will be in for a professional development day, preparing for more great learning ahead! Students, enjoy the day off!


🎃 Today, our elementary schools brought the Halloween spirit to life with festive parades! The students had a fantastic time showing off their creative costumes and celebrating together. From superheroes to spooky creatures, everyone looked amazing! 👻

We were thrilled to welcome author David A. Kelly to Haley School yesterday! He shared his journey of becoming a writer with our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders, and gave an exciting look into his popular 𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘔𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 series. From visiting baseball stadiums for research to crafting stories filled with suspense, characters, and plot twists, David gave a behind-the-scenes look at the writing and editing process. He even shared examples of feedback from his editor at Random House! The students loved the Q&A session, where they asked about his experiences and what he's learned from writing books. It was an inspiring day for all!

On Wednesday, the EL/ML Department hosted a Multilingual Family Orientation, welcoming 43 new families who speak nine different languages! Families learned about the school schedule, classes, transportation, food services, testing, and more. The event also featured guidance on using PowerSchool and shared resources from the Family Resource Center to support our diverse community. Presentations were offered in Spanish, Arabic, French, Turkish, Vietnamese, Portuguese, and English.
