The Literacy Volunteers of Woodmont donated hundreds of books to the West Haven Public Schools this school year. These books have been greatly appreciated by teachers and students and have found their way into many classroom libraries. The books supplied have been given to students to take home as an effort to create “book-rich” family environments. Research shows that books in the home can contribute to future academic success. 8th graders at Bailey Middle School just finished reading the novel "The Outsiders" by SE Hinton and celebrated with their annual Greaser Soc Day! Students and teachers dressed up as their favorite characters from the book. STAY GOLD 8th graders! 🌅
Mackrille second graders had some visitors from Bailey NJHS members. The second graders have been working on multiplication, so the Bailey Buddies helped them build Array Cities and played Roll An Array together.

On Wednesday night, Bailey Middle School inducted 150 students into its National Junior Honor Society! The ceremony took place at the WHHS auditorium. Congratulations to all our inductees, as well as their family members that have supported them throughout the school year!

It was a big concert night for the district on Tuesday! Mackrille and Pagels Schools each hosted a 4th Grade Chorus Concert, while Bailey’s 7th and 8th graders capped off the evening with a Spring Concert of their own! In mid-March, Carrigan’s 5th and 6th Grade Bands collaborated with Bailey’s 7th Grade Band and Jazz Band for the 2nd Annual Band Pep Rally!! Throughout the month of March, teams of 7th graders at Bailey Middle School visited the Yale University Art Gallery to help gather information for a debate they were working on. The debate centered around the question, “Should museums return foreign artifacts?” For many, this authentic experience was a first in an internationally recognized museum!
