The West Haven Public Schools food service program is working with No Kid Hungry and End Hunger Connecticut to make more free summer lunches available to kids and teens 18 and under in West Haven. Starting Tuesday, July 5, through Friday, August 5, the meal sites will serve free lunch and breakfast every weekday and include parks, schools and summer programs. Kids and teens don't need to come every day to participate and they don't need to show ID or be participating in a program at the site. They can simply come to the site and eat a free meal.
The meals meet federal nutrition guidelines and will have milk, fruits, vegetables, grains and meat or another protein. Visit www.ctsummerfood.org for more information and an FAQ.
