WHHS hockey goalie named MVP for division
savino

As a captain on the WHHS boys hockey team this year, senior Michael Savino proved he was well-respected by not only his teammates, but also by local coaches. The Connecticut High School Coaches Association was so impressed with his work on the ice, it named him the MVP for Division I high school hockey teams at the close of the season. Savino, who has been a member of the WHHS hockey team for his entire high school career as a goalie, helped lead his team to the CIAC state championships and finish the year with an 8-10-2 record. He was also named for the second year in a row to the Coaches All-State Division I hockey team, as voted on by coaches from across all state conferences.

sam lee
The West Haven Public Library has a new youth services librarian, Miss Sam. Stop in to say hello and let her know what you want to see at the library. She has craft programs, game nights and volunteer opportunities planned, but is looking for more ideas. She is also taking applications for teenagers interested in participating in a Reading Buddy program with local youngsters and applications for general teen volunteers for the library.
