Bailey Middle School's math department held a
Family Math Game Night Thursday with free games, food and a raffle. Games included magnetic darts, Plinko, card tricks, roulette, free throw, Deal or No Deal and more, and incorporated math topics like probability. Thanks to all who came out and to the students and teachers who ran each game station.
Pagels holds Veterans Day ceremony

Alma E. Pagels Elementary School held a Veterans Day ceremony Friday, featuring presentations from students about veterans in their lives and patriotic songs. Students also invited veterans from their families.

•  Admissions reps from the University of New Haven had an On-Site Admissions Decision Day at WHHS this week and accepted 13 seniors to UNH for college. The students received over $221,000 in scholarships, thanks to the UNH-West Haven Public Schools partnership that grants Westies going to UNH half-tuition scholarships.

The WHHS Counseling Dept. will be sending monthly emails with testing, scholarship, event and college/career info. Click here to sign up.

Need help registering your child on InfoSnap? Stop by the WHHS computer lab on the main floor Tuesdays & Wednesdays 2:30-8 p.m. until Nov. 10.

School Climate Surveys for Pagels; Mackrille; Forest; Haley; Savin Rock; Washington; Carrigan; Bailey; and WHHS. All answers are confidential and used to improve our schools.

  Volleyball coach, girls soccer team earn honors

Congratulations to Kate Coldren, West Haven High School girls volleyball coach, for being named the volleyball Coach of the Year by the Southern Connecticut Conference. The team also made it to SCC and CIAC play-offs. Kate is a physical education teacher at Carrigan Intermediate School. And congratulations to the WHHS girls soccer team for being awarded with the Sportsmanship Award from the Greater New Haven Soccer Officials Association. The girls soccer team also made it to SCC and CIAC play-offs.

The Carrigan Intermediate School chorus sang "God Bless America" and  the Bailey chorus performed "America the Beautiful" at the Bridgeport Sound Tigers hockey game this week.
