Bailey student self-publishes book
  briyana
Bailey Middle School student Briyana Mondesir has self-published her first novel after transforming what started as a fun and simple at-home writing project into a full-length book. Briyana began writing a story at the end of fifth-grade just for fun at home and even in the school cafeteria at lunch time. Once she was close to 50 pages, she set a goal of reaching 100 pages and then eventually kept going, while also deciding to turn it into a self-published book. “I want to be an author. I love to write. Ever since I learned to write, I've loved it," she said.

Artwork and photography from Mark Battista, an art teacher for West Haven Public Schools, is being featured in a local exhibit starting August 7 at the Case Memorial Library in Orange. His work will be on display with photographs by David Bellucci, whose father, Art Bellucci, is a long-time music educator who taught for over 35 years in the West Haven School System.
