Several West Haven Public School science educators are collaborating with Quinnipiac University STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) faculty members and teachers from other districts at a special summer program held at the college. Having been selected to participate, the 12 teachers and colleagues are creating science units with STEM activities for middle and high schools. The program, dubbed the Online Resource Through Integrated STEM (ORTIS) Project, is supported by the Teacher Quality Partnership Grant Program. In photos above, Shannon Cribbins reviews ideas with her group, and Cynthia Messina and Jeanna Vauiso work with a fellow educator.
