West Haven High School’s Fall Festival is tomorrow, October 31st, for all school families and the community. There will be food trucks, games, crafts, kids’ activities, vendors, music, student performances, a car show, and Trick or Trunk from 9:30 to 12:30 all on the WHHS campus. There will also be Children’s Theater performances at the high school at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and a family open skate at Bennett Rink from 2:15 to 3:15. For more information, click here.
Carrigan Mystery Night mimics Toy Story

 Carrigan Intermediate School 6th-grade students and their families had a spooktacular time at last week's Family Mystery Night. This year's theme was "Gory Toy Story." Teams rotated between forensic stations to complete tasks and find clues to solve the "whodunit."

The Bailey PTA is holding a Family Fun Lap Run at the WHHS track this Sunday, Nov. 1. Participants may register the morning of the race. The registration fee is $20 per runner/walker, and the spectator fee is $5 for ages 5 and over. Participants and spectators will be treated to samples, raffles, a Subway lunch and a vendor showcase. Registration on the morning of the event is 8-9 a.m., with the lap runs beginning at 9 a.m.

WHHS seniors may meet with Balfour representatives in the café from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Nov. 10 and 12 to buy graduation caps & gowns. Orders placed by Dec. 20 will have the discounted price of $25.  Check out the new "bling" tassel for an additional $10.

WHHS sophomores and juniors may visit with Balfour in the cafe Nov. 9 from 6-7 p.m. or on Nov. 10 and 12 to order class rings.

Bailey eighth-graders are currently fundraising for the end-of-year RIMA trip.  One fundraiser is gift cards to the Honey Baked Ham store. All denominations are available. Please call Assistant Principal Bruneau at 203-937-4380 at Bailey to buy a gift card for your holiday ham or turkey.

The WHHS Powderpuff football game has been postponed to Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. The cost for entrance will be $3 or $2 with a WHHS ID. Come down and support the junior class! Interested girls can sign up with class advisers for $5.

Mackrille is collecting new or gently used books to be used for reading activities, during recess and to share with Mackrille students.

Carrigan after-school enrichment programs and late buses started Oct. 27. Here is the bus schedule and route.

  Schools celebrate Halloween

Schools held Halloween celebrations today with lots of fun costumes, such as a homemade R2-D2 ensemble complete with sound effects, Hungry Hungry Hippos, soldiers, characters from Eric Carle books, princesses, firefighter and police officers, Play-Doh and even hot dogs and condiments. Savin Rock Community School also had a pumpkin-decorating contest with the PTA this week.

Bailey Family Game Night set for Wednesday

Bailey families are all invited to Bailey Family Game Night on Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 6-8 p.m. Come see the school's new life-size Scrabble board, and enjoy food, raffles and games.
