The Employee Assistance Program


West Haven participates in the Employee Assistance Program. EAP offers West Haven Board of Education employees and their families free, confidential assistance for a wide variety of issues. When you are facing a significant personal problem, you can call for assistance anytime 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Day or night, their lines are staffed by experienced counselors with a Master's or PH.D degree. And if a referral is needed, they have a provider network with over 25,000 counselors available. Some of the most common issues their counselors deal with are:

  • Mental and behavioral health issues

  • Alcohol and substance abuse

  • Loss and grief

  • Family violence

  • Separation or Divorce

  • Stress management

The Wellness Center is a comprehensive resource to create an individual or organization-wide wellness program. At the core of the program is an online individual health risk assessment. Members who take the assessment can then access hundreds of wellness articles and videos, locate training materials, and receive a complete nutrition assessment.

Everyone needs a retirement savings plan and a plan to pay for their children's education. Take advantage of the exclusive EAP retirement and education savings plans developed for you by senior financial planners.

  • Custom Retirement Savings Plan--Members can call to schedule a phone meeting with one of their certified financial planners. After the planner gets important information from regarding their retirement objectives, current savings, 401k information and other financial and personal data, he or she will construct a customized retirement savings plan to better assure a sound future.

  • College Savings Plan--Saving for college educations requires more than just putting money aside for the future. Members can receive a customized savings plan along with key information about other college resources.
