Big Idea(s)

  • The production of a daily news program incorporates a variety of production and journalism skills. 
  • Daily news allows you to stay current with clubs, important dates and deadlines, activities and meetings.

A.      Video Production Skills: Understand video production as a communication tool and the equipment and skills required to properly communicate a message.

1. Describe the production process and industry standard terminology.

2. Design a message that is appropriate for specific audience.

3. Develop scripts and storyboards during the pre-production process.

4. Describe how to properly use production equipment including:

            a. Video Camcorders

            b. Tripods

            c. Microphones

            d. Audio Mixers

            e. Lighting

            f. Video Editing Hardware

B. Technology and the Economy:  Understand the link between technology and the economy.

12. Design a simulated enterprise and participate in a variety of roles within that enterprise.

13. Define and use quality control.
